Arkema takes part in the Chillventa tradeshow in Nuremberg
As the world’s second largest fluorochemicals producer, Arkema will be exhibiting at the very first edition of Chillventa, an international tradeshow for suppliers to the Refrigeration, Air-conditioning and Heat Pump industries, to be held in Nuremberg from October 15th to 17th, 2008.
Forane® 1234yf, a new low-GWP fluorinated gas for automotive air-conditioning
In the run-up to the stricter environmental standards coming into force in 2011, Arkema, a world leader in fluorinated gases, has developed Forane® 1234yf, a new fluorinated fluid with a low GWP designed to gradually replace HFC 134a currently used in automotive air-conditioning circuits.
Arkema and Daikin join forces to produce and market new generation refrigerant fluids in Asia-Pacific, creating the region’s leader for fluorinated gas
Arkema announces the creation of two joint ventures in partnership with Daikin, one for the production of HFC-125 on the Chinese site of Changshu, and the other for the marketing in the Asia-Pacific region of refrigerant fluid blends. The expertise of both companies in HFC production and blending associated with their market position establish this partnership as the leader for refrigerant fluids in the Asia-Pacific region.
Arkema successfully starts up the world’s largest HFC-32 production plant at Calvert City, Kentucky, USA
The new HFC-32 refrigerant fluid plant brought on stream at the Calvert City site (USA / Kentucky) affirms Arkema’s position among the world leaders in next-generation refrigerant fluids.
Belgian chocolate maker Leonidas successfully uses Forane® 427A in refrigeration equipment at one of its plants
Leonidas has chosen Arkema’s Forane® 427A refrigerant fluid, a 100% HFC* blend, for the conversion of existing equipment running on R-22, an HCFC generation refrigerant fluid.
Arkema launches its website www.forane427a.com
From December 31st 2009, European regulations require a ban on the use of HCFC*-22 fluids for the maintenance of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Arkema has been anticipating this deadline since 2005 by launching Forane® 427A, a 100% HFC** and one of the lowest GWP (Global Warming Potential) HCFC-22 retrofit solutions available on the market.
The McDonald’s Group chooses Forane® 427A for the retrofit of refrigeration equipment at one of its Swiss outlets
In under two years, on December 31st 2009, the ban on the use of R-22 HCFC* virgin fluid for the maintenance of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment will come into force**. The McDonald’s group is taking steps to anticipate this deadline in optimum conditions, and in December 2007 successfully conducted the conversion of equipment from R-22 to Forane® 427A, a new generation HFC*** fluid, at one of its outlets in Montagny-sur-Yverdon, Switzerland.
