DOW CORNING NAMES SOLUTIONS CENTER MANAGER
WILL OVERSEE SURFACE AND INTERFACE SOLUTIONS CENTER;EXPAND SILANES INNOVATION EXPERTISE
MIDLAND, Mich. U.S.A.: June 18, 2004 - Dow Corning Corporation has named Thierry Materne, Ph.D., global technology and business development manager for the company’s new Surface and Interface Solutions Center (SISC) in Seneffe, Belgium.
Materne will help develop innovative technologies and applications for organosilane and silicon-containing chemicals.
“Thierry’s expertise in material and compound research will extend our ability to provide performance-enhancing solutions that help our customers establish competitive edges in their own markets,” said Ken Kaufman, Dow Corning global product line manager, Silanes.
The Surface and Interface Solutions Center (SISC) is dedicated to designing innovative composites or molecules; processes; surface; interface and interphase technologies. It serves the global needs of customers in multiple markets, including plastics, rubber, adhesives, sealants, coatings, textiles and electronics.
Materne came to Dow Corning from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, where he developed high added-value materials for tire and non-tire applications as manager of the Advanced Materials Department.
Materne earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Liège (Belgium).
