GE’s ecomagination* Focus Supports Environment by Helping Farmers Achieve Top Results with up to 70 Percent Less Water
GARCHING, GERMANY — June 29, 2005 — The application of agricultural pesticides can have a significant impact on the environment, including heavy water demands for high spray volumes and chemical runoff into soil and groundwater. As part of its ecomagination* initiative, GE is taking the lead on this challenge with innovative Silwet* Silicone Super Spreader additives that can help save millions of liters of water annually.
GE Helps Delphi Lose Weight in Automotive Wire Coating and Meet Halogen-Free Part Requirements with Flexible Noryl* Resin
GARCHING, GERMANY — June 29, 2005 — New, high-performance Flexible Noryl* resin from GE Advanced Materials was selected by Delphi Corporation as a wire and cable coating for the company’s vehicle electrical systems. Delphi chose GE’s Flexible Noryl resin to meet a global automotive manufacturer’s need for high-performance cable that also addressed the requirements for halogen-free parts, with the cable to debut on a North American vehicle application. Flame-retardant Flexible Noryl resin may now offer the auto industry a new wire coating solution that provides superior properties compared to polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and is an excellent candidate for thin- and ultra-thin-wall coatings that significantly reduce weight and size and meet halogen-, chlorine-, and lead-free part requirements.
GE Flexible Noryl* Resins Help Enhance Environmental Performance in Consumer Electronics
GARCHING, GERMANY — June 29, 2005 — As part of GE’s ecomagination* initiative to help customers solve tough environmental challenges, GE Advanced Materials’ new Flexible Noryl* resins meet global requirements for halogen-free parts and international standards for recyclability while providing outstanding flame retardance, flexibility, and softness.
OPEL Tops off 2005 Zafira Compact Van with Unique Modular Roof Featuring GE’s High-Gloss Lexan* SLX Film
GARCHING, GERMANY — June 29, 2005 — When the new 2005 OPEL Zafira compact van arrives in showrooms this summer, customers will be dazzled by the high gloss and rich color of its unique roof. To achieve exceptional aesthetics and durability, OPEL selected GE’s Lexan* SLX film for this complex part as a superior alternative to a traditional painted component. As part of GE’s ecomagination* initiative to help customers solve tough environmental challenges, Lexan SLX film could help avoid harmful volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions, associated with conventional paint, to lessen the impact on the environment.
