The Strong Museum of Play, Rochester USA
Here is a good example of a creative design using Trespa Meteon cladding. The new wing of the Strong National Museum of Play has forever changed the landscape of downtown Rochester, New York.
Designed by architects Chaintreuil Jensen Stark, this $37 million expansion of whimsical architecture and a visually arresting structure nearly doubles the size of the museum from 15,600 to 26,000 sqm. The cubes result from 40 tons of structural steel, custom cut and bolted together at odd angles to support the building’s unusual geometry. These are covered with brilliantly coloured cladding made from 1500mm square panels of Trespa Meteon. Meteon also makes an important contribution to LEED, the US National Standard for developing high performance sustainable buildings.
Meteon architectural cladding panels are available in many colours, effects and finishes. The panels are based on thermosetting resin, reinforced with 70% wood fibres and manufactured under high pressure and high temperature to create cladding which is very tough and durable, with stability and workability similar to hardwood. The smooth non-porous surface is self-cleansing and will retain its physical performance and appearance for many years.
To inspire other architects when using Meteon for building facades, Trespa offers Perspectives (http://perspectives.trespa.com) which presents new ideas based on different elements of character, depth, rhythm, colour, curves and lighting.

Trespa Meteon
Trespa Meteon architectural panels are available in an extensive range of different colours, effects and finishes or in specials.
The panels are based on thermosetting resin, homogeneously reinforced with 70% wood fibres and manufactured under high pressure and high temperature. The result is a panel which is very tough and exceptionally durable, with dimensional stability and workability similar to hardwood. The smooth, non-porous surface resists the accumulation of dirt and retains its high physical performance and appearance in any weather or in extremes of temperature.
The high impact-resistance of the panel means that it cannot easily be damaged, scratched or abused and is very easily cleaned.
