QUADRANT CMS EXPANDS OPERATIONS IN HUNGARY AND BELGIUM
TIELT, BELGIUM – K 2004 – Quadrant Creative Moulding & Systems (CMS) will start production operations in Budapest, Hungary, to meet emerging demands. The move will free space at Quadrant CMS’s facilities in Tielt (Belgium) and enable the company to add 2 K (2 Components) moulding capability to its offering both in Tielt (B) and Budapest (H).
Hungary is quickly becoming an important manufacturing center on the continent as companies have shifted assembly operations to Eastern Europe. By expanding its own operations there, Quadrant CMS will be ideally positioned to provide new and existing customers improved logistics and quick distribution for its range of materials and services.
The expansion will be done “step by step”. Certification towards ISO 9001/TS16494, the ISO Technical Specification that specifies the quality system requirements for the design/development and production of automotive-related products is planned for this year.
“The motivation for this expansion was largely related to logistical and distribution concerns driven by customer trends,” said Fernand Vandaele, CEO Quadrant CMS. “Our other motivation was that the additional location would allow us to free up our facilities in Tielt (B) to add capacity for 2 K injection moulding.”
“You won’t find many competitors that have almost 100 injection moulding machines in one location,” Vandaele added, in reference to Quadrant’s facilities here. “We didn’t have much room to expand in Tielt and were already considering a second facility.”
In a 2 K injection moulding processes one polymer is injection moulded over another different material to reduce the time and cost of product assembly. Quadrant CMS enhances its offering to its customers with a full range of services including product engineering & development, mould making and repair, assembly and automation also in clean room class 100 0000 environment.
