Trespa introduces curved exterior cladding panels
New curved cladding
Trespa International has launched a new range of curved exterior cladding panels. This means that architects and designers can now create even more imaginative and aesthetically different facades whilst benefiting from the qualities and performance characteristics of the traditional Trespa Meteon panel.
Trespa International’s new innovation is the curved Meteon cladding panel. The system is based on the well-known Meteon flat panel which is widely used for the exterior cladding of all types of building. The curved façade is the latest concept introduced by Trespa as a source of inspiration for architects and designers and to help them develop their creativity.
By using the curved panels alone or in combination with traditional flat panels, interesting new dimensions and effects can be achieved to give façades unique and different character.
Because of the composition of its wood fibre core, the Trespa Meteon panel is the only high pressure laminate (HPL) of its type which can be curved and used externally. Unlike other compact panels which can be curved but can only be used internally, this exterior panel is unique because it offers a fully sustainable and durable performance in all weathers and any climate. Panels are available in a wide range of colours and ranging from a minimum radius of 600mm. Panels of a different curvature and radius can also be specified to special order.
Frank Smolenaers, Market Manager for Trespa’s Façade Systems, says, “These new curved elements will excite architects for whom design and image are very important and who appreciate performance products which are cost effective, aesthetically pleasing and offer a long maintenance free life. Trespa believes that they provide a host of new possibilities for architectural creativity and building construction, whilst delivering the quality for which our products are recognised throughout the world.”
A new source of design
The new curved elements are part of Trespa’s unique Perspectives concept, designed to show how Meteon cladding panels can be used, adapted, changed and fixed in different ways without altering the fundamental characteristics and performance of the product.
Perspectives is a new source of inspiration for architects and designers – a growing platform of communication and inspiration. It provides them with the means to stimulate new ideas and realise new designs. It focuses on Character, Depth and Rhythm as themed sources of inspiration for innovative shapes, techniques and combinations of colours and materials. This year, Trespa is enhancing these themes with new concepts of colour, curved elements and light which push the limits of creativity even further.
By visiting the Trespa website and clicking on Projects, specifiers can study the work of imaginative architects and designers who were inspired by the Perspectives concept and have used it for some of today’s most exciting building façades. Trespa Meteon
Trespa Meteon exterior architectural panels are available in a wide choice of different designs, colours and textures. The Meteon panel is based on thermosetting resin, homogeneously reinforced with 70% wood fibres and manufactured under high pressure and high temperature. This results in a panel which is very tough and exceptionally durable, with dimensional stability and workability similar to hardwood. The smooth, non-porous surface resists the accumulation of dirt and retains its high physical performance and appearance in any weather or in extremes of temperature. The high impact resistance of the panel means that it cannot easily be damaged, scratched or abused. It is easy to clean and is unaffected by cleaning materials.
