New UltraFlow tip improves melt homogeneity and part quality

Optimized melt channel allows for a wider range of applications

DUSSELDORF - Husky has optimized its UltraFlow melt mixing technology for hot runners, allowing processors to use a wider range of resins, while improving melt homogeneity and color dispersion.

Compared to previous generation models, the new UltraFlow 750 HT provides reduced pressure drop, thanks to an optimized melt channel design. The new design also enables better heat coverage closer to the gate.

The UltraFlow uses a static mixer to homogenize resin as it flows through the nozzle tip, significantly improving color change performance - reducing color change time for the majority of the resins used in injection molding. The new melt channel design also provides flowline-free parts and can help improve part quality and dimensional stability.

“We’ve made some additional improvements to our previous design so that UltraFlow nozzles are now better suited for a wider range of resins, including engineering grades like ABS and PA with little to no pressure increase,” Martin Baumann, Husky’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Hot Runners, said. “This significantly expands application possibilities.”
