HyFLO helps boost PET melt throughput by 15%
New screws standard on all new HyPET and Index preform systems
DUSSELDORF - Husky has introduced its new HyFLO plasticizing screw for the HyPET and Index line of preform production systems. The HyFLO screw delivers approximately 15% more melt output, better mixing capabilities and lower acetaldehyde (AA) levels compared to previous-generation screws.
“HyFLO essentially allows you to do more with less,” Mike Urquhart, Husky’s Vice President, PET and Closures, said. “You can now get the same amount of throughput on a smaller injection unit as you would on a larger system.”
The new screw also helps eliminate hot spots on the barrel, thereby avoiding melt degradation and minimizing AA generation.
